Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an apostille and a sworn translation?

An apostille certifies that the foreign signature or seal on your document is genuine under the Hague Convention. A sworn translation is the official Portuguese version produced by a publicly appointed translator, and Brazil normally requires both.

Can you apostille a document that was issued outside Brazil?

The apostille must be issued by the competent authority in the country where the document originated. We coordinate that step through partners abroad or verify an apostille you already hold before the Brazilian stages.

Do I need to be in Paraná for the cartório registration?

Not necessarily. If you appoint a procurador (legal representative) through a valid power of attorney, we can complete the sworn translation and cartório registration on your behalf.

Which authorities usually ask for legalized documents?

The Receita Federal for CPF, the Polícia Federal for CRNM and residency, the civil registry for marriage or birth, and the Junta Comercial for company records commonly require apostilled and sworn-translated documents.

Are you a law firm?

No. We are an administrative and relocation partner that manages the authentication process. For matters requiring legal counsel or court representation we work alongside licensed Brazilian attorneys (OAB).
