Frequently asked questions

What is the CRNM and how does it differ from the old RNE?

The CRNM (Carteira de Registro Nacional Migratório) is the national identity card for foreign residents in Brazil, introduced by the 2017 Migration Law. It replaced the former RNE, and the number on it is your RNM.

When must I register with the Federal Police?

You register after your residency or visa authorization is approved, and it should generally be done within 90 days of entry or of the authorization taking effect. We confirm your exact deadline during the document review.

Do I get my RNM number immediately?

Yes. The RNM number is generated at the registration appointment, so you can begin your CPF, bank account and lease steps well before the physical card is printed.

Can you register my whole family at once?

We coordinate appointments so family members are booked together where the unit allows, and one of our team accompanies the group throughout.

Do you provide legal representation?

We are an administrative and relocation partner, not a law firm. We handle the registration process directly and, when a matter requires legal counsel, we work alongside licensed Brazilian attorneys (OAB).
